What is 2-1-1 ?

Every hour of every day, someone in North Carolina needs essential services – from finding substance abuse assistance to securing adequate care for a child or aging parent.  In many cases, people end up going without these necessary and readily available services because they don’t know where to start.

2-1-1 is an easy telephone number to remember that connects people with important community services.

2-1-1 is a 24 hour, 7 days a week telephone number.

What type of services can 2-1-1 link to?

  • Health/mental health care
  • Child care services
  • Counseling services
  • Basic needs – food, clothing, shelter
  • Senior services
  • Civic information
  • Transportation
  • Others

2-1-1 provides free and confidential information and referral.
